Ginkgo tree

There's a very interesting tree growing outside the Capitol building
near the American flag. It drops it's seeds this time of year and
people always come by and collect them. I was told by the two
gentlemen pictured here that this is a Ginkgo Biloba tree and that
they have a permit from the state to collect the seeds. It's very
curious because the seeds have a really awful odor. As they rot on the
wet grass, they smell like dog poop. The men who wore plastic gloves
during this collection told me that the only to wash the smell off is
by using baking soda. They were collecting the seeds to grow more
Ginkgo trees but some Asian cultures use the seeds for medicinal
purposes. See the link below for more info and be sure not to walk on
the grass near there.
