Towing and Road Service
Yes, put this endorsement on your auto insurance policy. If your car breaks down on the side of the road, having a tow truck driver come to your rescue is priceless. These guys are unsung heroes. They work in the worst weather conditions, at all hours of the day, and solve your problems with the greatest of ease.
Check your insurance policy or ask your agent for coverage specifics. Some carriers have smart phone apps that make it easy to call for a tow. Download the app and look for that function.
You might say, "I have a new car. It won't breakdown." Well, what about flat tires, dead batteries, running out of gas? What if your car gets old and you forget to put the coverage on. It's a no brainer, get the coverage.

High Deductibles- Advantages
Higher deductibles on auto insurance can be a great long-term strategy for lower premiums. If you're carrying deductibles over $1000 for collision, there is less benefit to file claims for dings and scratches to your car. This may lead to fewer claims, but you will have to pay out of pocket to fix your ride or drive around with the damages. Some people don't mind a few dents on an older vehicle. It goes without saying, don't drive it if it's unsafe.

Low Deductibles- Advantages
Obviously, low deductibles on auto insurance are better when you file a claim. Accidents are random and drivers don't always budget for unexpected expenses, like car repairs. I field a lot of calls from people after an accident and drivers with low deductibles are happier about their circumstances than high deductible customers. Ask your insurance agent to quote you several different deductibles on both your comp and collision and pick the one that is right for you.

Fire Insurance
It's devastating to see fires rip through a neighborhood like this. Lives may be lost and families will struggle with this trauma for many years. It was not too long ago that we experienced something like this in Oregon.
- Dwelling- This is the amount the insurance company will pay if you have a total loss. This is often confused with Market Value but the dwelling coverage pays to rebuild the part of the house that you live in.
- Personal Property- This coverage pays for the things like furniture, clothing and appliances that are not built into the home.
- Separate Structures- This is for fences, sheds, retaining walls, hot tubs, etc, that are not attached to the dwelling.
- Loss of Use- This is money to help you pay for a place to live while your home is unlivable and being repaired.

Auto Insurance Coverage- Property Damage Liability
Let's say you crash into a 2020 Tesla, how much will your insurance pay if it's totaled? According to a CarGuru.com valuation, a Model 3 of that year is worth about $63,000 at the time of this posting. Auto insurance normally pays Actual Cash Value.
Your Property Damage Liability is the amount your insurance company will pay to the owner of that Tesla. If you don't have enough coverage, you may have to pay the difference. It may not be another car that you hit. It could be a streetlight, a building, a sign, a road barrier, etc. Those aren't cheap, either. Check the amount of Property Damage coverage that you have on your auto insurance policy and ask yourself, "Is that enough?"
